Tailored English & Maths Lessons for KS1 to KS4

At Boscastle English and Maths Tutoring, we specialise in both English and Maths for all years. From KS1 to KS4, Functional Skills and much more. We offer tailored lessons to help students excel in their studies, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
Our sessions are designed to be engaging, supportive, and effective.

KS1 – 5 to 7 year olds. There are Years 1 and 2. In Year 2, children will take their SATS (Standard Assessment Tests) to assess their progress in subjects like maths and English. The topics that they will learn are as follows: Number and Place Value; Calculation; Times Tables; Fractions; Properties of Shapes; Measurement; Position and Direction and; Statistics. The topics that they will learn in English are as follows: Phonics; Reading; Handwriting and Letter Formation; Writing; Spelling; Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation and; Spoken Language and Listening. These topics will be taught throughout KS1.

KS2 – 7 to 11 year olds. These go from Years 3 to 6. In Year 6, children will take their SATS to assess their progress in subjects like maths and English. They will do the same topics as KS1 but with more depth. They will also have Fractions, Decimals and Percentages and Algebra.

KS3 – 11 to 14 year olds. These go from Years 7 to 9. The topics that will be taught in KS3 maths are: Number; Algebra; Ratio and Proportion; Geometry; Statistics; Probability. The topics for English in KS3 are: Reading; Writing.

KS4 – 14 to 16 year olds. These go from Years 10 to 11. They will be learning topics in both maths and English that will help them towards their GCSE exams.

Lessons can be face to face or remote, dependent on availability and geographical location. We offer a student-centred learning experience. Each student will have their own learning plan that is tailored to their needs. We use a range of teaching styles, from worksheets to visuals, dependent on the students ability. For our younger students the style will be more visual than worded, although worded styles will be introduced over time. For our older students the style will be more worded, through worksheets, text books, with the aim of them becoming independent with their learning.
